With these one-on-one lessons, I will be working closely alongside you as we work through an entire photoshoot together. We will take one to two hours to shoot with a model, during which time I will be covering the basics with you - lighting, composition, the best time of day to shoot, etcetera.
Once we wrap up our shoot, we will sit side-by-side as we look over and discuss the images we’ve captured. We will then go over my personal creative process in post, covering color grading in Lightroom and moving on to Photoshop for dodging and burning, skin retouching and so much more. We’ll be covering a lot of ground here, and this portion of your workshop will take two to three hours.
For those of you who are only interested in learning about post-processing, I am offering lessons that focus on this portion exclusively! Skip the photoshoot and meet with me (in-person or via FaceTime) to discuss the editing process. I will provide a few RAW images from my own sessions for us to work on together.
These lessons will be perfect for photographers at any level, from those who are just starting out to those who have been shooting for years. There is no one “right way” to edit an image, as every photographer develops their own routine over time. My goal is to pave the way for each of you to discover your own creative process that best suits your personal style.
Please bring your choice of camera and any lenses you prefer to use. For this workshop, lenses in the 35mm-85mm range will work best. If you would prefer to edit your photos in real time alongside me, please also bring your laptop and any necessary SD or CF card readers or cables.
